An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a piece of device that provides defibrillation using battery-powered stored energy. If the patient has ventricular fibrillation, it then shocks their cardiac rhythm with electricity. Check on some of the features of a reliable product made by a professional AED supplier Mindray.
How does AED work?
An automatic external defibrillator can restore a normal heartbeat, which can save a person’s life. The AED is applied to a person whose respiration has ceased, and it shocks their heart to induce cardiac arrest. In an urgent situation, the proper application of a reliable AED is crucial in terms of performing first aid.
Mindray provides detailed instructions on how to operate the AED.
First, the patient is placed in a supine position with the chest up, the AED is placed next to the patient’s ear, and defibrillation is performed on the patient’s side.
In the second step, electrodes are placed, electrode patches are quickly attached to the patient’s chest, and the electrode patch leads are inserted into the AED host and await heart rate monitoring.
In the third step, if the patient experiences ventricular fibrillation, the apparatus will alert by an audible alarm or graphic alarm. Before pressing the “shock” button, you must make sure that no one is touching the patient, or loudly announcing “clear”.
When analyzing a rhythm that needs to be defibrillated, the capacitor tends to recharge automatically and is indicated by an audible or light signal. During a shock, the patient may experience a sudden convulsion. CPR is continued immediately after the first shock is completed.
Mindray’s instruments continually monitor the patient’s heart rate to perform further CPR and to provide information to the arriving paramedics. Detailed information on Mindray‘s high-quality instruments can be obtained by visiting their official website.
